James Doogue disguised himself as a private seller when selling and advertising a number vehicles for sale on an online sales platform. Therefore engaging in a prohibited commercial practice by making a representation or creating an impression that he was not acting for the purposes related to his trade, business or profession.
The CCPC served a Compliance Notice on James Doogue which took effect on 13 November 2024 directing him to do the following:
- To provide true and accurate information in all communications, including advertisements on any account, with or to consumers with respect to the fact that he is acting for purposes related to his trade, business or profession, and is not a private seller when advertising or offering motor vehicles for sale.
